Hang Seng Bank launches first NFT wallet for HK's retail banking industry

Hang Seng Bank has launched the first NFT wallet for customers in the retail banking industry in Hong Kong, enabling customers to safely store NFT in their wallets harnessing the blockchain technology of Web3.

Also known as "HS3", the mobile app acts as an NFT wallet. It is launched for selected customer to collect and showcase exclusive NFTs issued by Hang Seng Bank as pilot offering. During the Chinese New Year period, customers who win the god of wealth NFT in the lucky draw after delivering e-laisse on the app and selected private banking customers will become the first batch of users of the HS3 app.

The HS3 app offers an overview of customers’ digital asset wallet in a few clicks, such as previewing their redeemable NFTs and the NFTs their own. The App sends notifications and reminders about NFTs available to customers, their redemption status, as well as NFT expiration date. Furthermore, the app offers customers exclusive NFTs featuring different themes and collections with unique design, which viewers can also redeem unique NFTs through the App. Additionally, the App offers digital asset related articles to keep customers informed of the latest market news and learn more about NFTs and Web 3.0.

Recently, Hang Seng Bank has partnered with Regal Hotels Group, UOB Hong Kong, City Super Group and The Mills to tap into the metaverse with a virtual land acquired at Mega City 2 of The Sandbox, a decentralised gaming virtual world and subsidiary of Animoca Brands. Hang Seng bank has opened its metaverse branch in MetaGreen.
