As multiple industries find themselves affected by the global COVID-19 pandemic, there are still some Hong Kong companies finding ways to strengthen their business during this period. GoGoVan, for instance, has launched a new delivery service aimed at helping home-locked customers buy goods and necessities.
The platform's delivery arm GoGoDelivery has rolled out a new "Buy For You" service which can provide customers with various products via a same-day delivery service. The service is being offered to any location across every Hong Kong district.
Customers are allowed to select up to HK$1,500 worth of goods. On top of the basic route fare, couriers will also charge a service fee based on the value of the items.
GoGoVaN is not the first Hong Kong brand to launch a delivery service during the coronavirus scare. In February, Foodpanda officially launched Pandamart, its own on-demand delivery service. Foodpanda's arm was soft-launched in November 2019 and is already collaborating with around 1,000 shops, with 14,000 items sold so far. Partners include convenience chain Circle K, snack store Okashi Land, craft beer manufacturer Heroes Beer, and kitchenware store, I Love Kitchen.
