Hong’s appointment also follows the many different appointments of South Korean stars for fashion and beauty brands this year. Footwear brand PUMA recently named South Korean pop girl band IVE as its new brand ambassadors for the APAC region, according to a statement by the brand.
The South Korean pop girl group will be PUMA’s Asia-Pacific ambassadors in 15 countries across Asia and Oceania, it said.
Luxury fashion brand Bally has also named South Korean singer Lee Seokmin as its new global ambassador, according to the brand in a statement on Instagram earlier this year. Lee, who is also known as DK on stage, is part of SEVENTEEN as well.
Lee was reportedly chosen by Bally because he is widely recognised for his casual elegance and global appeal as a singer.
