Digital agency GERMS Digital is beefing up its leadership with the appointment of two new creative leads. These are creative director Tattoo Yar (pictured right) and associate creative director Tang Wai Hoong (pictured left), according to a statement by GERMS Digital.

Together, Yar and Tang bring with them close to 50 years of experience and expertise and they will look to elevate GERMS' creative output and open new opportunities for growth.

Hailing from TBWA Singapore, Yar is a highly decorated creative leader with over 19 years of experience with both traditional and digital creative work. In his career, Yar has worked with some top brands such as P&G VICKS, Oral-B, Singapore Airlines, Standard Chartered, Manulife and AXA.

Tang on the other hand was a regional creative lead for GrowthOps across Kuala Lumpur and Singapore before joining GERMS. He brings a proven track record of creating successful, share-worthy digital campaigns. Over the course of 20 over years in the industry, he has worked on a wide range of brands including HSBC, DBS, POSB, Toyota, Lexus, Ford, Mercedes, MINI, Maxis, DiGi, Celcom, Mead Johnson, Anmum and Tiger Beer.

“We are thrilled to have Yar and Tang join our team,” said Francis Tan, GERMS' executive creative director. “Their exceptional creative skills and deep understanding of the digital landscape will be a valuable asset to our clients and help push our talented creative team to the next level.”

The addition of Yar and Tang underscores GERMS’ commitment to constantly drive up the quality of its creative services so as to better serve its clients’ needs.

Most recently, GERMS launched an NFT project on National Day last year called “We Are SG” (WASG), which utilises 9,822 NFT artwork collections for Singaporeans. The WASG project aims to be accessible and relevant to all Singaporeans, with NFT art (pictured above) that depicts everyday characters and cultural traits familiar to them – on launch day, Singaporeans will be able to mint this NFT for free.

According to GERMS, these NFT artworks will be revealed when they are minted on launch day, which was on 9th August 2022 via WeAreSG.io. In addition, each distinctly Singaporean trait was created as a layer, and 9,822 artworks will be generated from a myriad combination of these layers.
