Food and grocery delivery platform foodpanda is ushering in the year of the snake with a month-long celebration featuring festive treats and delectable delivery. Titled "Pau ga liao" ('cover everything you need'), the campaign will see a community event aimed at bringing delicious reunion dinners to 1,000 households in Tampines.

The campaign was done in collaboration with Tampines Changkat grassroots leader, east Abdullah Abdul Rahman. Abdullah is part of the People's Association (PA) and is a recognised member within the community.

As part of the campaign, east-side households received a complimentary reunion steamboat bundle of items available on pandamart, which includes fresh vegetables, condiments, soup broth, and canned beverages to kickstart the lunar celebrations. In tandem, Abdullah's neighbours in block 117 Tampines street 11 received bundles delivered straight to their doorsteps, while other residents in Tampines will have to redeem their own bundles at SAFRA Tampines on a first-come, first-served basis starting 11 January.

The event also featured a lion dance door-to-door performance for residents in block 117 and on-ground at SAFRA Tampines.

Singaporeans across the island will also be able to join in on the festivities with a foodpanda giveaway on the platform's Instagram page. From 13 January to 22 January, users can follow the instructions in foodpanda's pinned post to stand a chance to win prizes, including free reunion steamboat bundles from pandamart for their entire block and Pau-Pau mahjong sets.

To commemorate the festive period, foodpanda has also curated a guide on what each zodiac should eat for good luck in various aspects. For those born in the year of the snake, ox, monkey and rooster, dumplings and fresh prawns are the way to go for a year of fortune. For a year of good health, those born in the year of the rat, rabbit, horse and goat should feast on fresh fish. Meanwhile, for individuals born in the year of the tiger, dragon, dog and pig, foodpanda recommends eating scallops for a year of prosperity.

To wrap up the festivities, foodpanda is also offering daily deals on groceries from pandamart, Cold Storage, and Giant until 16 February. Those who prefer to order in for the celebrations can enjoy a special 88 cents delivery from Burger King, Pizza Hut, Gong Cha, Kimly Dim Sum and more. A full list of promos can be found on the foodpanda app.

The delivery platform is no stranger to quirky campaigns. In September last year, foodpanda brought free deliveries to the residents of Simei after it was awarded the "hungriest" neighbourhood following a social media contest

As part of the campaign, foodpanda gifted residents of Simei free pandapro subscriptions for an entire month. This followed a surprise campaign giving 53,000 Yew Tee residents unlimited free deliveries to bring excitement to Singapore’s “most boring” neighbourhood.

The nationwide giveaway saw over 1,600 entries nominating their neighbourhood to receive free unlimited deliveries. Receiving an outstanding 1,302 likes, a Simei resident won unlimited free deliveries through free one-month pandapro subscriptions for their HDB block, and prizes worth over SG$1,000.
