Delivery platform foodpanda has launched on-demand, express delivery service pandago in Thailand, Taiwan and the Philippines. The service, which allows for the instant deliveries of small parcels, was first launched in Singapore in August 2022, and then then expanded into other regions. Customers looking to deliver urgent items such as keys, gifts, medications and essential documents, can now have their items delivered within 60 minutes through the pandago feature on the foodpanda app.
Shortly after launching pandgo as a pilot in Singapore, foodpanda reported that, it completed over 10,000 express delivers in just four months, shared Bhavani Mishra, the regional director of logistics APAC at foodpanda when MARKTEING-INTERACTIVE reached out for a comment. The most frequently sent items in Singapore include food and drinks, medication, and personal wellness items such as supplements, balms and creams. Many customers also used this service to deliver forgotten items such as keys and keycards, according to foodpanda.
In addition to its expansion into these new markets, foodpanda has also enhanced pandago by providing customers with real-time tracking and a chat function to further provide peace of mind to the sender. Customers can also get in touch with the assigned delivery partner to get updates on their delivery details.
The launch of pandago in Thailand, Taiwan and the Philippines is particularly timely as foodpanda reports significant growth in its quick commerce sector. Last year, the delivery service reported seeing an increase in demand for categories such as health and wellness, beauty and pets with regards to quick commerce. In fact, orders for health and wellness products rose by 115 per cent in the first half of 2022 as compared to the same period last year.
Pandago is currently live in Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, and Taiwan with plans for it to be rolled out in more markets later in year.
The news comes just shortly after foodpanda and Huawei announced that they had tied up to launch the former's app on the Huawei AppGallery for all Huawei smartphone users. The foodpanda app will also be pre-installed on millions of new Huawei mobile devices across the region. Additionally, Huawei will run a series of integrated advertising campaigns on foodpanda’s adtech platform, panda ads. In turn, foodpanda will also be leveraging Huawei’s Ads platform, which includes Huawei’s own media and third-party media channels to reach out to Huawei users.
