Foodpanda is celebrating Singapore’s 60th birthday by rolling out its first-ever "Local foodie heroes hall of fame", paying tribute to ten beloved homegrown F&B brands that have shaped the nation’s food culture.
The hall of fame recognises local brands and the stories of resilience, innovation, and community that have made them household names.
The list includes iTEA, crowned ‘Most tea-riffic brew’ for its islandwide bubble tea presence; OK Chicken Rice, named ‘Top of the pecking order’ for its beloved halal chicken rice and community spirit; Ishiro Fusion Bowl, ‘The campus favourite’ that grew from a polytechnic stall to a chain of affordable Japanese fusion rice bowls; Pastamania, honoured as the ‘Ultimate flavour twirler’ for pioneering casual Italian dining with local twists; and Jinjja Chicken, the ‘Next-gen trailblazer’ which puts a Singaporean spin on Korean street food favourites.

Other honourees include Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang, recognised for its bold nasi lemak and Indonesian ayam taliwang fusion; Thai Dynasty, celebrated as ‘The culinary voyager’ for bringing authentic Thai flavours to everyday dining; IRVINS, the ‘Snack game changer’ turned global sensation for its salted egg chips and fish skin; Yeo’s, a ‘Pioneer of local refreshments’ known for iconic drinks such as chrysanthemum tea; and Tiger Beer, Singapore’s ‘Singa-pour superstar’ and proud local brew since 1932.
To mark the milestone, foodpanda is serving up two months of exclusive deals from 21 July to 31 August. Customers can get 30% off selected meals from hall of fame brands such as Pastamania, Ishiro Fusion Bowl, Jinjja Chicken, iTEA and OK Chicken Rice, with extra savings for pandapro subscribers.
Grocery items from local names such as Yeo’s and Tiger Beer are also included, with 30% off on pandamart, Cold Storage and Giant.
On the ground, shoppers who spend SG$30 at any Giant or Cold Storage store between 8 and 24 August can redeem a sG$6 voucher for their first three online grocery orders through foodpanda.
The "Local foodie heroes hall of fame" campaign runs until 31 August on the foodpanda app and at participating outlets islandwide, giving Singaporeans more reasons to celebrate the flavours they know and love.
The campaign is driven by an integrated marketing approach that includes digital activations, targeted in-app ads, a social push across foodpanda's social media channels and out-of-placements, said Yingchun Li, head of marketing and growth, foodpanda when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out.
In addition, foodpanda will partner with influencers and amplify content through paid media to further drive buzz and engagement throughout the campaign.
“As we celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday, there is no better time to spotlight the homegrown heroes who have grown alongside the nation, shaping our food culture and becoming a part of our everyday lives,” said Bhavani Mishra, managing director, foodpanda Singapore.
“These brands are more than just familiar names connecting generations of Singaporeans – they represent stories of resilience, innovation, and community that define what it means to be truly local. As we champion their growth, we also want to offer great deals to bring Singaporeans closer to the flavours they know and love," added Mishra.
Meanwhile, Ian Lin, founder of Thai Dynasty, said "I started Thai Dynasty in 2018 with the simple mission of making authentic Thai food accessible to Singaporeans who truly appreciate bold, genuine flavours. It's been a journey of growth, learning what locals really love and tapping on platforms such as foodpanda to bring our dishes closer to even more people across the island. We’re really proud to be part of the local foodie heroes hall of fame - it's a great reminder of why we do what we do."
The campaign comes shortly after foodpanda appointed Mishra as its new managing director for Singapore. Mishra, who has been with the company for eight years in regional leadership roles, now will oversee all aspects of foodpanda Singapore’s operations in his new capacity. He will lead the company’s commitment to innovation and service excellence, ensuring customers continue to have access to diverse choices and services at competitive prices.
Prior to his time at foodpanda, Mishra held positions at multinational corporations such as Amazon and ABB.
