ESPRIT is offering a free tram ride on 20 August 2022, to hype up its return to the Hong Kong home base. This marks the fashion brand's first free tram ride day event, and ESPRIT hopes to use this ride as a means to promote its inclusiveness, while welcoming Hong Kong-ers to join in on the festive event. All tram motormen will don ESPRIT apparel.
This is part of ESPRIT’s celebration of its popup “love, esprit” execution, which is a exhibition featuring interactive zones and retail areas on Russell Street, Causeway Bay. This popup, open to public from 18 August, will display ESPRIT’s rich heritage and new collections, as well as introduce its new mascot, Joy the Dolphin, and offer a preview of its future activations to the community.
Earlier in July, Esprit introduced a fresh face to its brand, "Joy the Dolphin", as an embodiment of Esprit's heritage, values, and essence in celebrating life, love and togetherness. Serving as a bridge that brings the Esprit community together through unique brand experiences, products, and customer engagement-focused activations, the brand seeks to reach out and engage with audience from around the world through its new mascot. Founded in California in 1968 by Doug Tompkins and Susie Buell, ESPRIT was the world’s first lifestyle brand inspired by the human spirit. ESPRIT today has a presence in more than 30 markets around the world. The group has been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since 1993, and ESPRIT’s international headquarters is located in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong Tramways, owned by RATP Dev Group, has been serving Hong Kong since 1904 and operates a fleet of 165 tramcars including two antique party tramcars, one unique “TramOramic Tour” sightseeing tramcar, and one unprecedented Tram No.18 which focuses on providing premium social gathering experiences. Tramways is the world’s largest fleet of double-deck tramcars in operation, carrying up to 200,000 passengers every day. It has been keeping up efforts in developing a worldwide recognised icon, while offering the greenest, the most affordable, and the most joyful transport mode in Hong Kong.
