Edelman Singapore’s vice chair of technology for APAC John Kerr (pictured) has left the company after 16 years to join a local health tech company as CEO.

Kerr told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that he could not be more thankful to the company, or prouder of the best people in the industry, who made that 17-year chapter more blessed than he could have ever dreamed of.

He also said that such a move enables him to deliver an innovative artificial intelligence (AI) engine, which shows that communications offer a foundation to build any career path.

Kerr has been with Edelman for over 16 years. He first joined Edelman in 2006 as managing director of digital for Asia, where he was tasked at setting up and growing Edelman's social-digital capability from scratch across the Asia-Pacific region.

He was then appointed as Edelman Singapore's vice chair of digital and performance in 2018, then promoted to the agency’s CEO to drive transformation and modernisation within the company in the same year. In October 2021, Kerr was promoted to vice chair of technology for APAC.

Prior to his role as Edelman’s vice chairman of digital and performance for APAC, Kerr launched Edelman’s sister agency, Zeno group across six markets in the region. He has also led a regional PR agency as well as its New York office.
