Easybook.com has appointed TJ Chan as its new marketing director. In his new role, Chan is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of effective marketing strategies to drive the success and growth of the company.

This involves effectively promoting the company's products and services, enhancing its brand image and building a strong brand presence in the market.

Ultimately, Chan aims to achieve the targeted sales volume as per projection while retaining profitability.

A regional role, Chan's remit will cover the Southeast Asia market, including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Philippines, Laos and Brunei. 

This is a newly created role where Chan will be reporting directly to founder and group manging director, William Lee. 

"Our vision is to serve the general public to travel safer and easier across ASEAN. We aspire to become the locally founded and largest land and sea transport platform," said Chan of his new appointment when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out. 

Prior to joining Easybook.com, Chan was the senior assistant vice president of strategic marketing at Astro for over three years. 

In his role, he strategised business growth and developed the marketing plan to drive awareness, build brand affiliation and drive profitability.

He was also responsible for building and driving Astro's B2B portfolio for CE & Hotels after the pandemic and helped drive sales and new acquisition. Before that, he was the head of brand and marketing communications at Malaysia Airlines. 

At Malaysia Airlines, Chan managed all aspect of marketing planning for global markets such as the UK, ANZ, China, India and ASEAN countries. 

Chan also served as business head at Havas Worldwide Kuala Lumpur from 2016 to 2017. 

Other managing director moves in the industry include Madina Kalyayeva, who was recently named as Tilt Agency's new partner and managing director.

The move comes as Tilt continues its trajectory of growth following the acquisition by HM Too and Agile Media in October 2021. Kalyayeva will be reporting to Stuart Helmore, CEO of Tilt in her new role. 

Kalyayeva will be responsible for shaping the agency's strategy, overseeing client service, cultivating employee experience and fostering a vibrant organisational culture. Additionally, she is set to spearhead multiple planned expansions, solidifying Tilt's position as a go-to agency for regional and global clients.
