DBS SME Banking HK tackles cross-border payment challenges with new campaign

DBS SME Banking Hong Kong has partnered with local ad agency Secret Tour HK to unveil a thematic video revolving around “6G swift account payments”, to depict the challenges of slow and malfunctioning payment systems, as well as solving the issues consumers face with cross-border payments.
The campaign comes along with the tagline “Good Security, Good Speed, Good Coverage, Good Platform, Good Tracking and Good Service”, aiming to encapsulate the comprehensive offerings by DBS with the catchy and all-encompassing phrase.
Instead of focusing only on specific features, this phrase will emphasise DBS’ holistic solutions, ensuring DBS is the first name that comes to mind when SMEs require a reliable partner for cross-border payments.
Done in collaboration with creative agency Horizon Creative and Ampersand Studio HK, the campaign aims to solve the challenges customers face with cross-border payments and collections. It also looks to view these issues from the customers' perspective, and showcase how DBS can provide effective solutions, including digital cash management capabilities.
Lasting throughout Q4 2023, the campaign also targets both prospective and existing bank customers, and those involved in eCommerce and trading companies.
Furthermore, the campaign will implement strategic targeting in its media placements to reach SMEs which are currently in need of DBS’ services. This focused approach will ensure its message reaches the right audience at the right time.
In terms of the medium of promotion, heavy outdoor placement at strategic locations including the cross-harbour tunnel will be leveraged. There will also be targeted media placement online.
“We’ve seen a surge in cross-border activities since the border reopened earlier this year and businesses are on the lookout for hassle-free cross-border payment options. As the World’s Best Digital Bank, DBS has been a leader in providing innovative, speedy and seamless cross-border payment solutions to SMEs across the region,” said Eva Leung, head of marketing, executive director, institutional banking group, DBS Hong Kong.
“Partnering with the creative team at Secret Tour (HK), our new ‘6G cross-border payment’ campaign aims to showcase our reliable payment solutions to SMEs in Hong Kong, which are designed to make their transactions smoother and more efficient," she added.
In Singapore, DBS and SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) recently announced a new two-year collaboration under the SkillsFuture Queen Bee initiative to boost sustainability capability and capacity via the enhanced DBS SME Skills Booster Programme. The partnership aims to help meet a growing demand for green skills among small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which has increased by about 140% annually in recent years.
Courses will be offered under the DBS BusinessClass Academy and its partners. Additional courses on banking and finance, digital transformation, and cyber wellness will also be featured as part of a holistic approach to strengthen overall business resilience. Moving forward, companies will also be able to access DBS’ ESG Ready initiative, which aims to help SMEs move towards achieving independent assurance in sustainability.
