DBS names Dennis Lam CEO of Vickers HK

DBS Bank has appointed Dennis Lam (pictured) as CEO of DBS Vickers Hong Kong. Lam previously held the position of deputy head of research of DBS Bank Hong Kong, as well as Hong Kong and China equity strategist.
DBS Vickers offers investment advice, margin financing, futures trading, micro and macro-economic research, and nominee and securities custodial services. DBS Vickers serves customers worldwide. Through DBS Vickers' team of experienced trading representatives, customers can have access to more overseas markets and wider range of investment products, all with personalised service.
With over 20 years of equities research experience, Lam has been instrumental in expanding small and mid-cap coverage during his 14 years with DBS. Prior to joining DBS, Lam was the associate director of Bear Stearn Asia (now JP Morgan). Anuruk (Art) Karoonyavanich, chairman of DBS Vickers Hong Kong, said: “Lam’s wealth of experience and strong track record in equity research, stock analysis and strategic planning, will be of significant value-add to our client franchise. This appointment will further solidify our platform in Hong Kong, and provide a runway for our team to grow to new heights.”
Furthermore, DBS group research covers regional stock markets to consistently identify trading ideas that outperform others, which brings timely and comprehensive Asian insights, combining bottom-up research with sectoral and macro/thematic analysis, in conjunction with DBS economics and market research, according to the company website. DBS Vickers has a network of more than 60 analysts covering more than 600 companies in the following markets: Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Thailand and South Korea.
While in Singapore, Ng Yihang has taken on a new role with DBS as VP marketing of consumer banking. Ng was previously head of marketing and communications at The Learning Lab. As the head of the marketing department at The Learning Lab, he spearheaded the company’s branding, customer acquisition, and communications efforts.
Before joining The Learning Lab, Ng held roles in marketing and strategic projects with ecommerce retailer, Zalora. Earlier in his career, Ng served as an Intelligence Officer with the Singapore Armed Forces for several years.
