DBS Bank HK names new head of digital for consumer banking

DBS Bank Hong Kong has appointed Isaac Kong (pictured) as head of digital, consumer banking group & wealth management, DBS Bank (Hong Kong), effective 17 August 2022.

He has been with DBS for over five years and working closely with regional digital teams, and has been instrumental in delivering all the digital wealth implementations across Treasures and Private Bank, with some of his key accomplishments being the launch of IWealth Mobile Banking in Hong Kong, real time equity, FX trading across seven major markets, client connect platform implementation for front office, process reengineering and backend processing revamp and most recently implementing the digital build for Insurance Premium Financing.  

According to his LinkedIn, Kong is responsible for managing full technology initiatives cost across consumer banking and wealth management, taking full responsibility of tech P&L and computerisation cost; leading multiple digital product teams covers full digital business, including fintech and product market value propositions, roadmaps, own end to end, O2O (online-to-offline) customer and employee journeys optimisation. 

Furthermore, he is also responsible for leading business process management ontology and multiple technology delivery teams, as well as overseeing all project governance and domain propositions, including system daily operations, manual and auto testings, project releases and day to day IT efficiency.

Kong described himself as a digital & eCommerce expert in banking, retail and education industry, expertise in multiple modules of strategic planning, budgeting, execution and people management, and he has shown proven ability to lead business teams to achieve local and regional business objectives.

With experience spanning the globe, Kong claimed to be passionate about eCommece and digital transformation by creating exclusive market value proposition, enhancing user experiences and optimising sales processes to achieve company’s sales and marketing objectives. He would like to develop his career in fintech & insurtech which gives him opportunities and exposures for his career development as a cooperate management.

Prior to joining DBS, Kong has over 15 years of experience in digital & ecommerce with a critical experience of driving business in a global ecommerce platform covering over 30 countries. The Platform Delivery, Digital Onboarding & GBA, Digital Channel and Digital Payment, API teams shall report to Kong.
