Sri Widowati (pictured) has stepped down as vice president of marketing at Danone Indonesia after four years in the role, marking the end of a tenure that spanned both the infant nutrition and water divisions. She announced her departure on LinkedIn, describing it as an opportunity for reinvention.

Widowati credited Connie Ang, former CEO and president director of Danone Indonesia, for inspiring her to take on the role, citing Ang's leadership, vision, and dedication to building strong local brands and high-performing teams. Ang left in August 2023 to join Danone's global team in France.

During her time at Danone Indonesia, Widowati played a key role in driving business growth, strengthening brand marketing fundamentals, and advancing strategy and insights, she said. She also led the company's shift towards data-driven marketing, moving beyond conventional media approaches.

However, she highlighted the people she worked with as the most rewarding part of her journey. "But beyond all that, the greatest privilege has been the people. I have learned, grown, and been humbled by the team I've had the honour to work with every day," she said.

She also expressed hope that she had instilled a culture of courage within her team, believing that boldness is essential for growth.

Widowati is now focusing on personal development, training to become a Stott Pilates instructor while exploring the transformative power of movement. "I'm on garden leave until the end of March, spending time in beautiful New Zealand and Australia, and then starting my second phase of intensive pilates training," she added.

Before joining Danone Indonesia, Widowati held leadership roles at major international firms, serving as chief growth and digital transformation officer at Unilever and country director for Facebook.

Danone's products in Indonesia include mineral water, infant formula, and isotonic drinks. Its brands include AQUA, Mizone, VIT, SGM, Lactamil, Nutrilon Royal, and Bebelac. Committed to addressing climate change, the company aims for net zero emissions by 2050 and a positive water balance by 2030.
