Independent B2B marketing agency Construct Digital has appointed seasoned creative leader John Scott as executive creative director to beef up its creative capabilities and further elevate its digital marketing and marketing automation offerings. Scott commenced the role in April, and manages and mentors a team of 10 creative and content specialists across Singapore, India and the Philippines.
A newly created position, Scott’s role includes the company’s creative profile by bringing big-picture thinking grounded in real-world pragmatism to the current client roster, as well as driving new business efforts. He joins the Construct Digital’s leadership team and reports directly to Construct Digital managing partner Charanjit Singh.
With 25 years of experience as a copy-based creative, Scott has worked with network agencies and independents from Australia to the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Singapore full-time, freelance, and as an owner. Prior to joining Construct Digital, Scott headed Cuckoo, an independent creative boutique as the founder and creative director for almost 10 years. More recently, he was contracted as executive creative director to lead the combined creative departments at Publicis Groupe-owned agencies Digitas and Arcade.
Singh said the company was excited to have Scott onboard, who brought many years of creative experience with him. “Building a strong creative capability on top of our existing service offering in digital marketing, data analysis, consulting, content marketing and tech production will allow us to add even more value to our clients’ business,” he added.
Meanwhile, Scott said the company had been “going great guns for over a decade, and yet, the business still had that fearless can-do spark of a tech start-up”. “Now we’re heading into Construct’s transformational teenage years, I’m chuffed to become part of the team and help champion its creative culture internally and in partnership with our clients,” Scott added.
Construct Digital went through a brand revamp of its corporate identity, website and assets in 2018 to transform from a simple website development agency to a full-fledged digital marketing agency.
