CONNECTme, Malaysia’s WiFi hotspot service that leverages on MEASAT’s satellite broadband system, has recently launched a new campaign titled ‘CONNECTme to a Bigger World and a Brighter Future’.

Conceptualised by FCB SHOUT, the campaign was launched in conjunction with Malaysia Day to further cement CONNECTme’s commitment in making Malaysia a land of equal opportunities for all by making modern connectivity accessible and affordable for even those who live in remote areas of the nation.

Developed as a sequel to last year’s successful Malaysia Day campaign, ‘CONNECTme to a Bigger World and a Brighter Future’ is anchored by a brand film that follows a young Bornean boy on a journey of discovery as he brings viewers through the digital revolution that his village has enjoyed thanks to the implementation and development of CONNECTme broadband service.

The film shows the journey of a young boy who is able to connect with the world through CONNECTme. From earning an income for his family by connecting with the community, connecting with his father in the military to having accessible healthcare services.

“This campaign is the ideal springboard for us, as Malaysia’s rural satellite broadband service provider, to reinforce our commitment to connecting more Malaysians to a bigger world and a brighter future, regardless of their location,” said Ganendra Selvaraj, the chief commercial officer of MEASAT.

“As highlighted in our latest brand film, CONNECTme is driving progress across various sectors, including telehealth, defence, education and e-commerce. This Malaysia Day, we are proud to reflect on our contributions toward advancing the country’s digital landscape and empowering more Malaysians with equitable access to a world of greater opportunities,” added Selvaraj.

“This campaign marks our second year working with MEASAT and CONNECTme and we are very pleased that we have gradually but surely developed a profound and unique narrative for the brand,” said Syahriza Badron, the general manager of FCB SHOUT.

“As the nation’s satellite communications provider, CONNECTme deserves to be celebrated for giving Malaysians the opportunity to better their lives regardless of their stature, race, religion or even locality, and there’s no better time to spotlight the endeavors of the brand than during Malaysia Day. Lastly, a huge appreciation goes out to our production partners at KDCo, Max Fx Studio and Crosstown Connection for bringing the film to life,” he added.

‘CONNECTme to a Bigger World and a Brighter Future’ is running across all CONNECTme MALAYSIA social and digital channels in conjunction with the Hari Malaysia celebrations.

In commemoration of Malaysia Day, many other brands such as Express Rail Link (ERL) have launched campaigns to celebrate the occasion.

Bringing a captivating new mural to life titled "Buaian di Anjung" ('Baby cradle at the verandah') which will greet passengers at the arrival hall of ERL at KL Sentral, ERL celebrated Malaysia Day by partnering with renowned doodle illustrator and mural artist Nas Suha.

The 30 feet high mural celebrates the delicate craft of batik, a fabric and craft that is deeply rooted in Malaysian tradition and that tells the story of a time when it was used as a cradle to gently rock babies to sleep.
