Citybus makes new push to drive HK tourism industry

Citybus has unveiled “HK City Sightseeing”, a brand-new tourism tagline for Hong Kong, aiming to promote the tourism industry and boost wider economy.
With the investment of over HK$30 million, the upgraded open-top bus fleet offers a fresh and immersive experience for tourists. Tourists can enjoy limited rides on the bus network, including the exclusive hop-on-hop-off experience of “HK City Sightseeing” open-top buses, which operate with departures every eight minutes, covering scenic spots in Hong Kong with connections to retail outlets and Hong Kong incredible array of food and beverage options both day and night.
Citybus also introduces the new sightseeing passes under the new brand of “Citybus+” to provide seamless travel across the city, including the airport and major tourism attractions in Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.
The new initiative is a key product promoting cultural experiences in Hong Kong with its unique open-top bus and vibrant Hong Kong iconic attractions. The buses have been fully refurbished and upgraded with superior facilities including panoramic glass sunroofs, sliding windows and new seating, along with state-of-the-art technology on board, ensuring year-round comfort and operations.
Citybus also launches a user-friendly mobile application “HK Sightseeing”, offering special offers to travellers. Tourists can purchase tickets on the application, enjoy real-time multilingual commentaries on sightseeing routes, and receive recommendations for key attractions. The app also features exclusive discounts from commercial partners in the tourism, retail, hospitality and the F&B sectors.
The grand launching ceremony was held on 21 November at the iconic Tsim Sha Tsui promenade, showcasing Citybus’s commitment to continue strengthening its partnerships and collaborations with key tourism partners and unveil further exciting partnerships and discounted offers.
Richard Hall, the managing director of Citybus, said, Citybus has been invigorated by the chief executives recent policy address to further boost tourist arrivals, particularly from mainland China and we anticipate even more exciting opportunities ahead.
