With the Hong Kong Sevens starting today (28 March) at the new Kai Tak Stadium, Citybus is expanding its services with new routes and a dedicated website to help people heading to Kai Tak with ease and drive tourism and economic growth.

According to the release, Citybus is committed to supporting Hong Kong’s vision for the mega-event economy by offering convenient and reliable transport services to Kai Tak Sports Park.

Expecting a surge of demand from mainland China and international visitors for Hong Kong Sevens, Citybus has launched a dedicated website, the “Route Guide for Kai Tak Sports Park”, serving as a simple, traveller-friendly resource to guide everyone to this incredible venue.

Furthermore, Citybus has launched new routes and services, aiming to deliver fast and directed access from the 50,000-seat stadium to the signature dining and entertainment hubs including Knutsford Terrace in Tsim Sha Tsui and Lan Kwai Fong in Central, designed specifically for visitors, citizens and fans attending Hong Kong Sevens.

To amplify the festive vibe of the Hong Kong Sevens, Citybus will also launch a dedicated new special route, Route SP2A which will operate each night after the matches (28 to 30 March), whisking rugby fans straight to Tsim Sha Tsui with a convenient stop right outside Knutsford Terrace.

In addition, Route SP10 will provide direct access to the nightlife of Lan Kwai Fong in the Central District. These services aim to let the excitement of the day spill into the local bars and eateries, giving citizens and international visitors alike a further taste of Hong Kong’s signature hospitality, nightlife and dining, elevating their complete travel experience.

Alongside its two “Nightlife” special routes, SP2A to Tsim Sha Tsui and SP10 to Central, Citybus will run five special routes to whisk spectators directly home after the matches to Kowloon, Hong Kong Island, Tseung Kwan O and the New Territories after the Hong Kong Sevens action at Kai Tak.

During this three-day event, Citybus' drivers and operations crew will monitor the demand and adjust service frequencies as needed to keep the fans and supporters moving smoothly, according to the release.

For visitors who wish to dive even deeper into the history and culture of the city can hop on board one of Citybus’s “Hong Kong city sightseeing" open-top bus tours. They provide multilingual commentary and cover various locations across Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.  With a single ticket, visitors have the flexibility to hop on and off the tour bus as many times as they like, exploring cultural attractions as well as a wide range of retail and dining options.
