city'super and chef Polar craft a better lifestyle for HKers this Christmas

Hong Kong-based gourmet retailer, city'super, has launched its 'Beary Christmas' festive campaign to craft a premium quality of life for consumers.
The initiative, featuring the store ambassador chef Polar, will be showcased across its four main gastro-markets located at Harbour City, ifc mall, Times Square, and New Town Plaza, as well as in neighbourhood stores in AIRSIDE, Kai Tak, and THE SOUTHSIDE, Wong Chuk Hang.
Inspired by the plight of 52 starving polar bears forced by climate change to forage for food in a Russian town in 2019, chef Polar was created to spread awareness of eco-responsibility and wellness, embodying city’super’s green, sustainable ethos, said a spokesperson from city’super in a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.
“With a taste for fine living, the endearing culinary bear promotes a one-stop Christmas shopping experience at the ultimate gourmet store, where customers can find safe, quality products, healthy green options, world gourmet selections and exceptional craftsmanship all under one roof,” added the spokesperson.
Starting from 1 November until 25 December, the campaign includes the brand’s Christmas Hamper, Christmas treats and giftings, Turkey programme, party set offers, and Christmas dining, with an early bird programme kicked off between mid-October until 15 December for different categories. It is followed by New Year celebrations continuing until 1 January, 2025.
According to city'super, this hamper includes nearly 30 gourmet items, featuring beverages such as Champagne Henri Billiot Grand Cru Reserve Brut NV and Glenmorangie The Lasanta 12-year-old with a Nosing Glass Gift Set. It also includes food items such as Comtesse du Barry Coffret Magie 16 Specialties Foie Gras Gift Set and Boscovivo White Truffle Sauce.
As the ultimate one-stop destination for all things Christmas and New Year, city’super saves everyone’s valuable time, not only in the kitchen but also during the busy holiday shopping season, said the spokesperson. This campaign highlights the joy of sharing quality food that requires minimal preparation for any occasion.
“City'super offers a curated selection of premium land and sea delicacies, along with fine wines, to enhance the flavours of any Christmas feasts. Our party sets, ready-to-eat options, turkeys, and a variety of home-cooking choices, along with our catering services, make holiday planning effortless and enjoyable,” said the spokesperson.
“Additionally, city’super features a delightful range of gift options perfect for mid-party exchanges or as a thoughtful thank you to the host[...] Our offerings emphasise affordable luxury and an appreciation for fine food and wines from around the world, available in both food and non-food categories, complete with personalised delivery and wrapping services,” added the spokesperson.
Targeting parents of young children, singles aged 18 and over, and families of all sizes, the campaign offers a global shopping experience focused on gourmet foods, gifts, and decorations, marketed by the company as "affordable luxury." It includes fine food and wines sourced from around the world.
Its all-in-one offerings are designed to cater to both corporate clients and individual customers, providing tailored solutions that truly stand out.
Done mostly in-house with agency support in PR management, the campaign has leveraged video content to showcase the brand’s diverse offerings across various channels, from in-store displays to marketing platforms. The campaign is promoted via social media, email marketing, offline and online marketing materials, content marketing, public relations, and influencer marketing.
With the announcement of Christmas in early November, along with the festive decorations and music that immerse customers in the holiday spirit, the brand aims to deliver exceptional services and an extensive selection tailored to meet all customer needs.
