CIMB Singapore launches new immersive banking experience at CIMB Plaza

CIMB Bank Singapore is celebrating its first anniversary at CIMB Plaza with the launch of CIMB Bank Express which aims at providing a fun banking experience for its customers while solidifying its footprint in the Central Business District.

Located on the ground floor of CIMB Plaza as an extension of the bank’s branch on level three, CIMB Bank Express serves to complement the bank’s current branch, online and mobile banking omni-channel experiences through an immersive experience which includes chat bots, anamorphic displays and interactive table-top screens to support self-service banking, products demonstration and account application.

“We want to bring a new and immersive banking experience to Singaporeans like never before. As part of digitalising the banking experience, we want to make banking not just convenient but also fun and enjoyable,” said Victor Lee Meng Teck, CEO of CIMB Singapore.

Lee also said, “As a challenger bank pivoting our digital transformation initiatives to meet changing consumer needs, CIMB Bank Express will serve as a key platform for us to test and learn from these initiatives, supporting CIMB’s ambitious growth agenda in the country.”

“During the recent soft launch, we are pleased to hear encouraging feedback on the design and user experience at CIMB Bank Express,” added Merlyn Tsai, head of consumer banking and digital at CIMB Singapore.

“Moving forward, we will continue to enhance the customer experience through added interactive components making it fun and simple to learn more about our products and services,” she continued.

In lieu of the launch’s celebrations, customers will also stand a chance to win shopping vouchers by participating in its contest on social media.

As CIMB ramps up their marketing efforts, earlier this year the bank launched a campaign video for Chinese New Year in an attempt to highlight hope, a reigning theme of the year of the rabbit.

The video, titled “A Very ‘Luna’ New Year”, features a 15-year-old girl, Luna, who has been tasked with helping her grandparents run their family's home-based business as they prepare for their first Lunar New Year without their mother. 

Through the video, CIMB plays up familial ties, multi-generational bonds and the importance of supporting one another through life's most significant moments.
