The support measures will extend to customers through the end of 2021.

Specifically, the new measures include:

  1. Coverage for any treatment expenses resulting from any adverse events caused by COVID-19 vaccinations, locally and globally.
  2. Coverage of hospitalisation or outpatient expenses resulting from suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19, in addition to waiving cost-sharing for any diagnostic tests.
  3. A Compulsory Quarantine Cash benefit of HK$2,000 / day for Cigna HealthFirst Elite Medical Plan members who quarantined due to diseases, a one-off payment of HK$2,000 for customers and members of Local Employee Benefits Group Schemes due to confirmed or suspected COVID-19 infection, and an extension to 90 days for the premium payment grace period for patients with confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19. Additionally, no penalty for ward upgrade with COVID-19 hospitalisation cases.

"With COVID-19 vaccines now available in Hong Kong, we are pleased to launch new measures to support our customers during this trying time, demonstrating our commitment to provide our customers with peace of mind," said Jonathan Spiers, country manager at Cigna Hong Kong.
