Cigna Healthcare has appointed Sarah Tam (pictured) as head of communications for Hong Kong, effective from April 2024.

In this newly created role, Tam is responsible for strategic communications, marketing communications, digital communications, public relations, community engagement, as well as brand and reputation management.

In a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Tam said while her past experience is more integrated in marketing and digital insurance, this role is for strategic communications.

Prior to joining Cigna Healthcare, Tam set up a social innovation consultancy in 2022 that developed digital and marketing strategies for organisations to assess, build and enhance programmes through strategy design, marketing, technology implementation, and skills development.

Before that, she also helmed the role of director, global head of marketing and corporate communications at Peak Reinsurance Company, a Hong Kong-based global reinsurance company.

Before that, Tam was head of customer, affinity partnership and brand marketing at Blue Insurance Hong Kong, where she specialised in digital strategy, partnership marketing, community investment, customer experience, marketing strategy, corporate communications, and rebranding. Prior to Blue Insurance, Tam was also the global head of communications at Chubb.

Previously she was also the digital project consultant, strategy and operations at Swiss Re; and vice president of global employer brand and marketing at J.P. Morgan.

Back in February, Cigna Hong Kong launched a campaign titled "Health first, making the right choice". It featured local influencers Sue Chang and Anina Ho, as well as athlete Matt Orr, highlighting how Cigna's insurance offerings protect policyholders and their loved ones.
