French restaurant bouchon Enfin has appointed Beatnk and REBL as its communications partners ahead of its launch to oversee strategic and creative communications, influencer management, as well as digital and social media. Bouchon Enfin is founded by chef James Won and business partner Scott Lim, and is inspired by the concept of restaurants in France's Lyon, which are known for their convivial atmosphere and family-style dining. The restaurant intends to serve up French dishes with a Malaysian spin.

Beatnk will take the lead in strategic communications and creative directions supported by independent design house Roshambo and PR practitioner Jillian Toyad, while REBL Malaysia will handle all social content and strategic components and for influencer marketing. REBL is supported by influencer marketing firm Komaci in this aspect.

Tanner Nagib, co-founder of Beatnk and strategic advisor of REBL, told A+M: "The collaborative nature of Beatnk as a micro independent network with REBL as one of our agency partners and proven results in its work enables bouchon Enfin to fully leverage on its varied expertise and capabilities."

The team has worked on the total brand development from logo to characters representations, and Nagib said it is at that stage where it has had to pivot from a traditional dine-in approach to deliveries and takeaways. Additionally, bouchon Enfin also sought to develop a strong brand identity and ensure audience resonance across the various touchpoints, including social, in-mall, press, as well as food bloggers and curators.

To celebrate all things local, bouchon Enfin is supporting Langit Collective by collaborating with the company for locally produced agricultural products from East Malaysia. They include rice, golden coral snails and peppercorns, which are incorporated into its dishes. It also engaged graffiti artists from Sabah, Kenji Chai, to complete an installation and mural.

Nagib said in spite of the latest Movement Control Order (MCO), the team seized the opportunity to bring out the best of the current situation and to reintroduce bouchon Enfin in a different light whilst staying true to the core of the brand.

In light of the MCO and in sync with #kitajagakita mantra, bouchon Enfin dished out breakfast sandwiches daily at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur to help Malaysians struggling financially, especially those who belong in B40 communities.

"Leveraging the nature of the collaborative approach from our agency partners definitely complements our restaurant’s beliefs, perfectly. Our aim at bouchon Enfin is to not only provide wholesome comfort food to the table but to also encapsulate the many cultures and heritages of what our country has to offer. They help us truly understand a true love for all things local on top of the varied expertise that comes with it," Won said.

“One of the best ways to connect with Malaysians is through food and we are extremely excited for Malaysians to experience the beauty in our endless combination of French and Malaysian cuisine at bouchon Enfin,” said Chef James Won.
