Luxury jewelry and watch brand Cartier has picked South Korean K-pop sensation V, otherwise known as Kim Taehyung as its new brand ambassador, according to a statement by brand. V is a member of the South Korean pop boy band BTS.

The South Korean K-pop artist has been appointed to be the face of the new Panthère de Cartier jewelry campaign and has been seen wearing a sculptural diamond ring, a tête-à-tête panther bracelet as well as a Révélation d’une Panthère watch, in campaign images.

"When it came to embodying the magnetism and aura of the panther, our choice naturally fell on V. He has the look and strength of character. [He is] a personality whose choices are guided by creativity as a dancer, musician or art lover, with this style and this elegance that belong[s] only to him," said D'Arnaud Carrez, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Cartier.

The news comes just as fellow band member Suga has been named as brand ambassador for the National Basketball Association (NBA) in April this year.

The NBA will have a presence throughout Suga's first solo world tour, collaborating around select concerts in celebration of the release of Suga's debut solo album, D-DAY

As an ambassador, Suga will also engage NBA fans around the world through the remainder of the 2022-23 NBA season and beyond. Suga will participate in several league initiatives that will be featured on the NBA’s and his personal social media channels, including attending NBA games and events in the US and Asia, and participating in the league’s promotional activities.
