Carlsberg Malaysia names FMCG veteran Stefano Clini MD

Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia has named Stefano Clini (pictured) MD to manage its operations in Malaysia and Singapore, effective 26 October, replacing Ted Akiskalos who is relocating to Europe. Clini will also represent the company in Lion Brewery (Ceylon), Sri Lanka as a board member.
Clini is currently MD of Carlsberg Vietnam Breweries and under his leadership, the company has had a successful turnaround. According to the press release, it saw a record growth in both top and bottom-line. Prior to joining Carlsberg Vietnam, Clini was MD of the British American Tobacco Malaysia responsible for the Malaysia and Singapore operations from 2013 to 2016. He has 30 years of experience in the global consumer goods industry and had held various senior leadership and commercial roles within the H.J. Heinz and P&G.
Chairman Datuk William Toh Ah Wah said, “Having had prior experiences and insights on the Malaysia and Singapore markets from his previous MD role with a tobacco company based in Kuala Lumpur, I am confident that Clini will continue to deliver continuous growth in both the operations thus enhancing sustainable shareholder value.”
