Burberry and Tencent reveal first look at "Honor of Kings" partnership

Last year it was announced that British luxury house Burberry and Tencent would be collaborating for their massively popular mobile game Honor of Kings. Today, the brands have revealed a first look at their partnership, featuring new skins for the game's heroine, Yao.

Burberry chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci personally designed the skins for Yao, a character that embodies the same spirit of nature that has long been ingrained in the fashion house's DNA. Featuring the brand's signatures including the iconic Burberry check pattern, the trench coat and the Thomas Burberry Monogram, Yao's "Spirit of Nature" skin blends the physical and digital worlds inside the game's universe.

The second skin, the "Spirit of the Forest and Ocean" offering, adapts a look from Burberry's Spring/Summer 2021 collection, putting Yao in a blue collarless trench coat and a crystal-embroidered vest.

A breakthrough for gaming and luxury, it's the game's first collaboration with a luxury fashion house, and signals a new trend in the way heritage brands are reaching new audiences where they live and play.
