Ben & Jerry’s has teamed up with Netflix to launch a new flavour: Netflix & Chilll’d, with its tagline “Just like Netflix, there’s something in this pint for everyone”.
The ice cream confectionery announced the launch of its new ice cream (peanut butter ice cream with sweet and salty pretzel swirls and fudge brownies, in case you were wondering) with a short clip, which was uploaded on its YouTube channel and Twitter account on 15 January.
The 30-second video showed scenes from popular Netflix Originals shows such as Orange is the New Black, The Crown, and Big Mouth with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s new Netflix & Chilll’d ice cream appearing in each scene.
The video has garnered approximately 1,960 views two days since its release.
Ben & Jerry’s also announced its launch on its Facebook and Instagram platforms, as well as its official website. At the time of writing, Ben & Jerry’s post on Instagram had garnered approximately 16,000 likes and 745 comments- most of which were positive.
In addition to its launch of Netflix & Chilll’d, Ben & Jerry’s also came up with a few interactive activities on its official website. This includes a list of wild questions Ben & Jerry’s have been asked before, and an article “4 Flavour Guru-Approved Netflix Original Show & Ice Cream Flavour Pairings” where Ben & Jerry’s staff provide their top four pairing recommendations.
The ice cream confectionery also created an online quiz “What Netflix Original and Ben & Jerry’s Flavour Should I Pair?” where netizens are recommended a certain Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavour and Netflix Original show pairing that suits their personality.
Ben & Jerry’s new Netflix & Chilll’d flavour will be available at neighbourhood supermarkets, convenience stores, and online retailers in March 2020.
