Indonesian eCommerce marketplace GudangAda has named Dian Paskalis (pictured) as its VP of digital marketing to spearhead the company’s marketing initiatives to drive customer acquisition, retention and revenue growth, as well as position GudangAda as a leader in the B2B industry in Indonesia. He reports to CEO and founder Stevensang.

In his new role, Paskalis is tasked with heading GudangAda’s marketing department and leading digital media strategy to reach and engage consumers at all stages of the marketing process, drive effective and efficient performance on the company’s digital marketing channels, and build GudangAda’s brand in consumers’ mind. The company added that he will also be responsible for building a performance-driven digital team in GudangAda through capability building, technology adoption to manage end-to-end marketing process, as well as thought leadership.

Prior to joining GudangAda, Paskalis was previously with Mindshare for more than a year, as seen on his LinkedIn profile. His role as digital director of the team for Unilever saw him leading digital media buying and strategy, building a performance-driven digital team by leading capability building and technology adoption to end-to-end campaign management process, providing consultation as well as building senior-level relationships with partners such as Google, Facebook, programmatic partners and publishers, he said on LinkedIn. Before that, he was head of digital marketing at Traveloka for more than two years. Apart form digital marketing, Paskalis also has experience as product manager at online community portal Qerja, business consultant at IBM and also dabbled in real estate development.

Regarding Paskali's appointment, GudangAda's spokesperson told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that he will "play a key role in building GudangAda and its brands within the B2B industry". He will also help support the company’s ambition to empower the supply chain from producers, distributors, wholesalers to retailers throughout Indonesia.

His appointment follows GudangAda's recent round of funding led by Asia Partners and Falcon Edge, where the company managed to bag more than US$100 million earlier last month. The company said that the funding will be used for team expansion across key divisions and executional capabilities, as well as building and strengthening GudangAda’s ecosystem of service offerings. Stevensang said then that the company is now "well-positioned to empower the supply chain from producers, distributors, wholesalers to retailers throughout Indonesia, with almost half a million users from over 500 tier-one to tier-three cities and develop a comprehensive monetisation model with a complete ecosystem".
