B2B media firm Ascential buys eCommerce provider Intrepid to enter SEA

Intrepid, an eCommerce and digital solutions provider across Southeast Asia, has been acquired by B2B media business Ascential. According to Ascential, the acquisition drives its expansion by providing a strategic entry point into the Southeast Asian market. For Intrepid, the acquisition will provide access to a wider network of resources and knowledge.
Intrepid will become part of Ascential’s digital commerce division and will be reporting to Dan Cotton, Ascential’s SVP APAC. The division enables consumer product companies to maximise their sales, share, and profitability across the global consumer marketplaces. Intrepid will join Ascential’s digital commerce brands comprising Edge by Ascential, Flywheel, Yimian, Duo Zhun, Intellibrand, OneSpace, Perpetua, Sellics, WhyteSpyder and 4KMiles.
According to Intrepid, its leadership team comprises former marketplace, brand and agency leaders and has led successful online growth for over half of the top 100 eCommerce brands in Southeast Asia. Intrepid’s team consist of over 480 eCommerce, digital marketing and tech experts across Southeast Asia. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to Intrepid for additional information.

Intrepid was founded in 2017 in Vietnam, and its clients comprise bands such as P&G, Tefal, 3M, and Forever 21, according to its website. Meanwhile, Ascential is based in London and listed on the London Stock Exchange. Its other division is intelligence and events, comprising product design, marketing and retail and events. It currently has over 3,000 employees across five continents.
