Aneka Tambang (ANTAM) has launched a limited-edition series of gold bars featuring intricate snake carvings to commemorate the Lunar New Year. These gold bars are designed with the qualities of the Year of the Wood Snake, a zodiac year that only comes once every 60 years.

Throughout the past weeks, the Indonesia-based mining and metals firm has continued to promote this new offering, emphasising that in Chinese culture, gold is not just a symbol of wealth but also a protector of life stability and positive energy.

To amplify the product's reach, the company enlisted familiar faces, including model and presenter Patricia Gouw. Promotions have also been carried out through exhibitions at Jakarta's Pondok Indah Mall 1 and Mall Taman Anggrek.

The exclusive gold bars are available in two sizes: 8 grammes and 88 grammes. Each bar is meticulously carved with detailed snake designs. It also includes a gift series available in 0.5-gramme and 1-gramme variants.

In a statement, ANTAM highlighted that the gold bars are equipped with advanced security features, including a serial number, watermark, QR code, and microtext, ensuring authenticity and protection.

"This product will be a symbol of good luck with deep meaning, as well as a valuable investment," said Hartono, ANTAM's director of operations and production. "With a design full of philosophical meaning, ANTAM hopes that this product will be part of the Lunar New Year celebration, bringing bliss and good luck to customers."

The snake carvings are complemented by other symbolic elements, including bamboo and plum blossoms, as well as the 'Fu' symbol, representing good fortune.

Accompanying the promotions is a video advertisement, featuring a young boy carving a snake from wood, which then springs to life and merges into the gold gifted by his parents.

The Lunar New Year is a celebrated festivity in Indonesia among the Chinese Indonesian community, which numbers around 2.8 million people, accounting for approximately 1.2% of the population. Celebrations are observed in places such as Jakarta, Singkawang, Batam, Medan, and other cities with sizeable Chinese Indonesian populations.

ANTAM is one of Indonesia's leading mining companies, specialising in the extraction and refining of precious metals, including gold, and playing a significant role in the nation's economic development. Founded by merging multiple state-owned mining companies in 1968, ANTAM later listed on the local stock exchange in 1997.
