The president of Angkasa, Abdul Fattah Abdullah said that the cooperation displayed the confidence that the industry participants had in Angkasa and the cooperative movement.
Through the cooperation, ANGKASA will be one of the suppliers of Samsung products and will be implemented in two phases. He reportedly went on to add that the first phase of the cooperation would allow the cooperative to acquire product supplies via JimatBiz at prices more affordable than the market price. Cooperatives have the freedom to sell or store such items depending on their business strategy.
In phase two, he said, Angkasa would become one of the suppliers of Samsung products. Regarding phase two and beyond, consumers can get devices through Angkasa’s subsidiary, My Angkasa Holdings.
Consumers also have the convenience of buying Samsung products online and have the option of paying by instalments through salary deduction. In a statement reported by Abdullah, the additional initiative coincides with Angkasa’s objective to empower the cooperative and its members, as well as to provide greater access to high-quality devices which could boost their productivity and competitiveness.
“This additional feature is in line with SPACE’s goal to empower cooperatives and their members as well as providing access to high-quality devices capable of increasing their productivity and competitiveness. The co-op is also capable of seizing much of the market, at least among more than seven million co-op members across the country,” he said.
He went on to add that ANGKASA also hopes that the cooperation will be a catalyst for more cooperation with other industry players out there, as well as strengthening the cooperative ecosystem that gives great benefits to cooperative members and the general public. Kim expressed his excitement towards the cooperation and noted that he hopes that the Samsung brand can explore a wider market space and continue to gain a place in the hearts of Malaysian consumers, especially the cooperative members.
