Shen Yi Loh-Lim (pictured centre) has joined Ampersand Advisory as partner, consulting and growth, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience as a digital growth specialist and Internet veteran.
Loh-Lim was most recently the director of growth at Frontier Digital Ventures, an investor and operator of online marketplaces worldwide, where he guided entrepreneurs across a portfolio of 15 companies across 20 markets, leading them through growth to profitability. Before that, he was country manager for Malaysia at iProperty.com between 2012 to 2015, before it was sold to REA Group in 2016 for about SG$750 million.
According to his LinkedIn, Loh-Lim worked at iProperty.com for more than seven years in Malaysia. He was also co-founder of The Sands Agency, which offered SEO and PPC campaign management to businesses worldwide. He also worked at XM Malaysia and Maxis.
Loh-Lim said he wanted an opportunity where the company could truly help businesses get the most of the digital tidal wave that is sweeping the world.
"We ve already got a couple of significant digital transformation engagements underway currently, and we re aggressively looking for more such consulting engagements. Unlike some other consultancies, we have deep experience of actually doing and making things work. That s our edge. And it s good to be working together with CEO Sandeep Joseph again, after our early days in XM Malaysia 15 years ago," Loh-Lim added.
Joseph said that Loh-Lim is an action-oriented growth specialist, and his presence strengthens its consulting offering. According to Joseph, Loh-Lim believes in moving fast and his way of functioning is in line with the agency's motto of "Achieving business results, now!".
"Managing digital disruption, transformation and growth is a key priority for Malaysian companies, and Loh-Lim s experience, coupled with our media expertise and data skillsets, offers clients triple value when they want to make the shift," Joseph added.
Last year, the agency brought on board former chief data strategist at Entropia Soumitra Dey (pictured right) as partner, data consultancy. Dey has more than 25 years of experience in media and data consulting and worked at Omnicom Media Group, Dentsu, Ogilvy, Initiative, Accenture Interactive, and PepsiCo.
