Amazon Global Selling has collaborated with Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) and Singapore Business Federation (SBF) to launch the ‘Amazon Global Selling Singapore Cross-border Brand Launchpad’ programme, according to a statement by the brand.

The new programme was developed to help over 100 local Singapore micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) launch and scale their brands while providing them access to export opportunities in the United States over the next two years through dedicated and tailored account management support and resources.

Namely, MSMEs will receive support in areas including an advisory on business growth and solutions, optimisation of marketing and analytics tools, and know-how on achieving product standards certification in line with local regulations.

“Cross-border eCommerce is becoming increasingly crucial for the success of MSMEs. To fuel their long-term growth, we recognize the significance of local collaborations and local support,” said Anand Palit, head of Amazon Global Selling, Southeast Asia.

As a testament to its goal of long-term knowledge collaboration, at least 300 Singapore companies will stand to benefit from a dedicated eCommerce learning series on topics which include solutions to tackle common global eCommerce challenges and skills for digital brand building to name a few.

“To strengthen their competitive edge, businesses must equip themselves with the capabilities to explore new markets and adopt differentiated go-to market strategies,” elaborated Soh Leng Wan, assistant chief executive officer, EnterpriseSG.

Soh also stated, “The size and vibrancy of the eCommerce market in the U.S. presents significant opportunities for Singapore businesses.”

Currently, as independent sellers, MSMEs account for 60 per cent of Amazon’s store sales and sales from Singapore sellers on Amazon global sites have achieved double-digit growth YoY, according to the brand.

“This partnership will help Singapore businesses develop the necessary know-how to reach customers in the U.S., which is one of the most diverse in the world with an enormous growth potential for consumer brands,” said Kok Ping Soon, CEO of SBF.

Recently, Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to launch Southeast Asia's first Joint Innovation Centre (JIC). The new centre is set to accelerate industry innovation and to support the growth of promising start-ups.

According to IMDA in a statement, the JIC will provide organisations in the corporate and public sector with access to tech showcases and demonstrations, innovation methodology for successful adoption and deployment, PIXEL’s workshops for design thinking, over 200 fully featured AWS technology for experimentation, and project-based consultation by IMDA and AWS’ experts.
