Alibaba becomes exclusive Salesforce CRM provider for Greater China

Salesforce and Alibaba have inked a strategic partnership resulting in Alibaba becoming the exclusive provider of Salesforce to customers in Greater China, and Salesforce becoming the exclusive enterprise CRM product suite sold by Alibaba.Announced at the Alibaba Cloud Summit Shanghai, Salesforce will bring its CRM platform — including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Commerce Cloud, and Salesforce Platform — to customers in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan exclusively through Alibaba Cloud. The pitch being it will help its customers transform the way they market, sell, and operate through businesses like Alibaba Cloud and Tmall. “At Salesforce, customer success is at the center of everything we do. And more and more of our multinational customers are asking us to support them wherever they do business around the world,” said Ryan Aytay, the company’s executive vice president of strategic partnerships and co-CEO of enterprise-collaboration platform Quip. “With Alibaba’s strong, advanced and secure cloud infrastructure network and insight into the Chinese market, both parties will provide the best localised solutions for our global customers.”Alibaba Cloud’s technology and public cloud platform underpin the entire Alibaba economy from eCommerce and payments to logistics and supply-chain management, the company stated.“As the leading cloud service provider in the Asia Pacific region, our cloud infrastructure and data intelligence platform combined with Salesforce’s market leading solutions for sales, service, commerce and more will provide global customers with incredible customer experiences at every touchpoint,” said Ken Shen Tao, vice president of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.
