ZA Bank names Ronald Iu as new CEO and executive director

ZA Bank has promoted Ronald Iu to chief executive officer and executive director, effective today. Iu will report to the Board of ZA Bank and he will take the stewardship to drive the bank’s future growth and development in the market.

Iu joined ZA International, the parent company of ZA Bank, as chief strategy officer in February 2022, and later became chief risk officer of ZA Bank. He has over two decades of solid experience in banking and finance, ranging from risk management, sales and marketing to the development of innovative fintech products.

Prior to joining the ZA family, Iu was chief executive of Airstar Bank. He also served as senior management in various global and local financial institutions, including GE Capital (HK), China CITIC Bank International, Standard Chartered, and PrimeCredit.

Iu succeeds Rockson Hsu who has stepped down as CEO and executive director of ZA Bank to pursue new opportunities. The Board of ZA Bank would like to express its sincere gratitude to Hsu for his contribution to building ZA Bank as a leading digital bank in Hong Kong, and congratulate Iu on his appointment. Iu will step down as chief risk officer with immediate effect. ZA Bank will announce the appointment of a new CRO in due course.

Back in August 2022, ZA Bank has launched a physical event “ZA Carnival: Millionaire Edition” for its latest Millionaire PowerDraw campaign to engage with consumers. 

The carnival first arrived in Olympian City on 27 July until 8 August, followed by tmtplaza in Tuen Mun on from August to 23 August. The event featured eight classic booths, including Rainbow (coin toss), Ring (ring toss), Teeth (teeth knockout), Pinball and more. ZA Bank mascots Zappy and Alfie with eight free game booths and prizes will also be present at the scene.
