The list of finalists has been officially launched on the Marketing Excellence Awards Thailand website, now readily accessible for your perusal. In its second iteration, the awards continue to celebrate the nation's outstanding campaigns and remarkable talents that have showcased their brilliance, innovation, and resilience amidst the challenges of the past year.
In response to valuable feedback from the previous year and in recognition of the field's dynamic evolution, seven new categories have been introduced, such as Excellence in Omnichannel' and Excellence in Retail / Shopper Marketing'. This has brought the grand total of categories to 42 where the finalists will compete for the gold, silver, and bronze trophies, with the ultimate honour of "Marketer of the Year" awaiting the highest achiever across all categories.
Our esteemed panel of judges, consisting of 12 accomplished client-side marketing professionals, meticulously evaluated the entries in each category to ensure a fair and rigorous selection process.
"As a judge for the Marketing Excellence Awards 2023 Thailand, I am humbled and inspired by the creative prowess before me," said Dissabhat Jirasapbhakarn, VP of strategic marketing communication, of Siam Commercial Bank. "Marketing has evolved from being transactional to transformational. It is not merely about selling products but shaping narratives, influencing culture, and making a meaningful impact. As marketers, we are not just brand ambassadors but also storytellers, psychologists, and even activists. In our hands lies the power to not only capture attention but also to captivate hearts. Let us wield that power responsibly.”
Elizabeth Dass-Brown, cluster director of marketing communications of Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa & Park Hyatt Siem Reap, said that the submissions have continued to grow in creativity and innovation. She said: “It was truly stimulating to see how these organisations had delivered exceptional solutions and remarkable results through impactful market research and outstanding consumer insights, most of them having derived inspiration from local sentiments and emotions.”
Agreeing with her, Chanuttita Chitmanasak, regional head of CRM and marketing automation – East Asia & Australia, of Michelin said: “The Marketing Excellence Awards has brought the brightest minds together. All the entries I assessed were inspiring. Their marketing solutions and accomplishments were laudable. I feel honoured to be part of this prestigious event.”
Poramin Chawla, marketing director of Taokaenoi Food and Marketing added that this year, there were many different categories that entrants could submit their campaigns to. "The entrants had more flexibility in submission choices and we judges learned more about a variety of marketing tactics across the categories,” he said.
Adding on, Anchalee Chaichanavijit, VP marketing strategy of One 31 explained that after the COVID-19 breakout, brands and agencies faced many different challenges. "They needed to come up with better business and brand strategies due to changing consumer behaviour. In addition, they need to regain revenue to survive. I saw many creative ideas and meticulous marketing efforts that have made huge impacts. I enjoy seeing excellent works that not only deliver the best performances but also inspire me as a marketer,” she said.
