Brand experience agency Uniplan has promoted Judd Christie (pictured) to chief executive officer of Greater China, effective 1 October.

Christie will continue to report to Christian Zimmermann, global CEO of Uniplan.

In a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Christie said this role had been previously directly fulfilled by Zimmermann. “Due to Uniplan’s recent expansion and growth in Hong Kong, it felt like the right time to appoint a dedicated regional CEO again.”

In his elevated role, Christie oversees Uniplan’s offices in Greater China, including Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing, while also serving the Asia Pacific region and selected global projects.

"We are working as a much closer team across our Greater China offices, adopting much closer collaboration between offices to the point that we now operate as one seamless team across the region. This better allows us to meet the diverse needs of our clients by assembling the right specialist resources for each project from our team, irrespective of where they may be based,” Christie said.

Most recently as Uniplan’s managing director for Hong Kong, Christie has been closely involved in many of Uniplan's large-scale projects in addition to leading the Greater China creative teams. In recent months, the agency has completed an array of projects for clients such as The Hong Kong Jockey Club, AIA, Oppo, OnePlus, GAC, adidas, and Trip.com. The agency continues to expand with a strong focus on the lifestyle, luxury, automotive, and technology segments, he added.

With over 20 years of experience working across the Asia Pacific region. Christie is passionate about creating impactful brand experiences to engage audiences by drawing from a background that covers theatre, digital, advertising, strategy, film, and TV.

Christie joined Uniplan Hong Kong as executive creative director in 2018 and was promoted to managing director for Hong Kong in October 2021. In this role, he was responsible for leading the growth and development of the Hong Kong office while further advancing the agency's transformation from a live communication firm to a full-service brand experience agency.

“I am very excited to formally take over the CEO role for Uniplan in Greater China. Despite the challenging market we continue to see great opportunities, not only to serve clients locally but also by specialising in taking China clients globally. Uniplan’s team of experts across Greater China, MENA, and Europe are ideally placed to connect brands directly with their audiences in a credible way that meets their growth ambitions,” Christie added.
