Uniplan names Greater China digital head

Brand experience agency Uniplan has appointed Michael Bertin as head of digital for Greater China.

In this newly created role, Bertin will work with the team to expand Uniplan’s offerings and help drive the digital transformation of the agency. Boasting more than 16 years of experience in the digital field, Bertin worked for Imagination Asia, TBWA Hong Kong and Publicis Dialog Paris across different markets before.

His experience includes overseeing digital strategy and production for various brands, including B2B and B2C, luxury, innovation centres, showrooms, automotive, retail, museums, and more.

“Uniplan is embarking on an exciting process of transformation. I’m looking forward to working with the team to further enhance Uniplan’s digital capabilities and develop more innovative solutions," he said.

Bertin will be based in Shanghai and report to chief strategy officer Andrew Au. Commenting on this appointment, he said, "Bertin brings a breadth and depth of experience and expertise that will enable Uniplan to provide boundary-pushing digital and interactive solutions for our clients. Having previously worked with him, I can attest that he is best in class in the digital space and I look forward to working with him again.”

Au joined the agency in March. This is also a newly created role and Au is responsible for expanding the agency's business and strategic customer consulting on an international level.

Au has more than 20 years of experience in marketing, experience design and creative tech. He joined from Wander Consult, a growth and advisory consultancy focusing on the media, agency and metaverse sectors. According to his LinkedIn, Au has experience in business representation, business development, brand consulting, marketing and growth advisory services. Clients that he served include companies in the media, design consultancy and NFT and metaverse sectors.

Prior to this position, he worked for agency "Eight" in Singapore for two years, where his last position was regional managing director for APAC. Before that, he spent many years in regional marketing for The Economist Group and Fortune. In his new role, he will also report directly to chairman and group CEO Christian Zimmermann.
