Sea Limited Malaysia brings on board Amelia Lim as new head of PR

Sea Limited Malaysia has appointed Amelia Lim (pictured) as its new head of public relations. In her new role, Lim will be responsible for leading all aspects of public relations, including developing and implementing communication strategies and brand building, she told A+M.
Her role also includes communications efforts and connecting with the Malaysian community in new and meaningful ways. In this role, Lim will be reporting to Terence Siau, director and country head of Malaysia, Sea Limited.

"I'm eager to collaborate with the talented team and leverage my experience to drive positive impact. I believe in the power of strategic communications to strengthen relationships and contribute to Sea Limited's vision of bettering the lives of consumers and small businesses," said Lim in statement to A+M.
Lim joins Sea Limited Malaysia from Ampersand Advisory where was head of public relations. At Ampersand Advisory, Lim was in charge of driving change for brands and for developing integrated public relations architecture through strategic branding and digital marketing solutions. In a LinkedIn post, Lim said that it's the "curtain call" for her agency life for now and that she is excited to return to the in-house world.
"I cherish the invaluable experience gained at all my previous agencies. I am thankful that throughout my career, I've been lucky to intersperse agency life with in-house roles, which have propelled and balanced my journey in PR. But at this juncture, it's time to return to an in-house role's strategic depth and focus," she added.
Prior to her role at Ampersand Advisory, Lim was head of brand and PR at TNG Digital where she conceptualised and developed the new TNG Digital corporate branding. She was also head of communications and head of marketing and partnerships, Malaysia at GoBear, a managing partner at Perseid Consultancy and was a senior brand manager at GO Communications.
In her career, she had taken on numerous roles across various brands and agencies including The Butter Factory, Artery, Waste to Energy, SISTIC.com, Love Airways, DBS Bank, Singapore Economic Development Board, Transitlink, HSBC and British India.
Lim's departure from Ampersand Advisory comes as the agency nabs Kunal Sinha as its new chief knowledge officer. Sinha has over three decades of experience, two of which were spent living and working in Mumbai and Shanghai. His most recent stint was in M&C Saatchi Indonesia, which gives him, at an overall level, a vast and unique perspective over Asia, it said in a statement.
