JCDecaux Cityscape has promoted Brian Chan (pictured right) to managing director for Hong Kong and Macau, succeeding Yoann El Jaouhari (pictured left), who has transitioned to Shanghai as general manager of SAMDecaux, a joint venture with Shanghai Airport.
In his new role, Chan will oversee the company’s business of bus shelter and tram shelter advertising in Hong Kong, as well as street furniture advertising in Macau.
He joined JCDecaux Cityscape in 2009 as sales director and held the position until 2019. In 2020, he took over the management of the advertising division of JCDecaux Cityscape and became the general manager of advertising of this division in 2023.
With over 15 years at JCDecaux Cityscape, Chan’s outstanding leadership and industry expertise are poised to strengthen the company’s position in the market.
Most recently, JCDecaux Cityscape has helped Standard Chartered Hong Kong transform a tram shelter in Causeway Bay into an immersive party venue, celebrating Donald Duck's 90th anniversary as a theme to attract new payroll clients.
The Paterson Street tram shelter came alive with a one-minute "light and music show" that was triggered by motion sensors whenever a tram approached. The shelter was adorned with blinking LED lights and spotlights, synchronised to a cheerful birthday song.
JCDecaux Cityscape initiated its digital transformation journey in 2018 by introducing market-first campaign-based audience impressions analytics, building a strong foundation for the launch of programmatic digital out-of-home (pDOOH).
The company has had pDOOH offerings in Hong Kong's central business districts across its first-class digital frame network since 2021. This cutting-edge initiative enables advertisers to engage in programmatic trading, leveraging data to optimise campaign efficiency, and integrate omni-channel marketing strategies.
