Hong Kong actor-director Stephen Chow has teased his new collaboration with cryptocurrency platform OKX on Web3 on his Instagram following his call to recruit Web3 talents.
According to Chow's latest Instagram post, he was seen conducting a Zoom meeting with cryptocurrency firm OKX. Chow said: “Grateful to gather a team of like-minded Web3 buddies. They are currently working on a Web3 plus AI project. Hopefully there will be my own AI to replace me in meetings soon."
Meanwhile, OKX replied the Chow’s post, saying that it enjoyed the meeting and was proud to be one of his Web3 buddies.
This comes after Chow created an Instagram account to recruit Web3 talents in October last year. He shared a photo of himself writing a recruitment message in Chinese on a whiteboard saying that he was "looking for a bright Web3 talent in the darkness" and hoped that the talent can help him build a creative future, the post read.
On the other hand, OKX Ventures, the investment arm of OKX, has recently announced a USD$1 million investment in Moonbox, an artificial intelligence (AI) technology and Web3-focused start-up based in Hong Kong.
Moonbox is licensed to use the intellectual property (IP) of Stephen Chow's films, such as "Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons"(西遊·降魔篇), "Journey to the West: The Demons Strike Back" (西遊·伏妖篇) and "The Mermaid" (美人魚). The company plans to launch a series of AI-powered NFTs and applications inspired by the art and film industry by the end of 2023.
