The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) will host the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival for five days for the first time, with extended opening hours until 11 pm.

Taking place at the Central Harbourfront Event Space from 23 to 27 October, this year’s festival has claimed to offer an expanded array of wine and food booths. The extended days and opening hours aim to allow both locals and visitors to fully immerse themselves in the celebration.

“The Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival is a signature annual event, and the scale of the event this year transcends that of last year. The festival will be held for five consecutive days, with extended opening hours and more food and wine booths than last year, promising a satisfying visit for participants of all tastes,” said Pang Yiu Kai, chairman of the HKTB.

With admission tickets and tasting passes available for purchase online since last Friday (20 September), this year's festival is expected to attract 150,000 visitors, according to multiple media reports such as HK01

This year’s festival will maintain its tradition of showcasing a fine selection of classic wines from around the world, along with emerging wine and spirits varieties. It will also introduce a new segment called “Culinary Stars” (名饌薈), featuring Michelin-starred restaurants and recommendations from master chefs. Additionally, the festival will include masterclasses led by renowned chefs, limited-edition Hong Kong-themed cocktails crafted by award-winning mixologists, and a array of live performances.

This year’s festival will include over 300 booths, featuring more than thousands of diverse global wines and culinary delights such as Chinese Baijiu, whisky, gin, sake, creative cocktails, craft beer, local snacks, hotel specialties, and dishes from Michelin-starred establishments, according to the release.

The event will also scrap the use of plastic cups, with organisers encouraging guests to bring their own stemmed wine glasses by distributing a souvenir glass sleeve if they do so, according to Raymond Chan, general manager, event and product development, HKTB. Visitors could also purchase wine glasses at HK$50 (US$6.40) at the venue.

To promote Hong Kong’s culinary culture, throughout November, the HKTB will partner with over 300 restaurants and bars in Hong Kong, Kowloon, and the New Territories to present “Taste around town,” a month-long celebration offering a range of dining options and exclusive offers.

“The Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival attracts visitors from all over the world every year and helps businesses to market their products to the rest of the world, creating more business opportunities. The event not only enhances the city's vibrant atmosphere, but also stimulates spending,” Pang added.

“The HKTB has also strengthened its efforts to promote Hong Kong’s allure as a wine and culinary destination across various platforms in our visitor source markets. We have also collaborated with trade partners to attract more visitors to Hong Kong, encouraging them to participate in this exceptional event while enriching their overall experience in the city. The HKTB will continue to showcase Hong Kong’s appeal as a city of gastronomy globally,” Pang continued.
