Virgin Active Southeast Asia head of marketing Joanne Lim exits

Virgin Active's head of marketing, Southeast Asia, Joanne Lim (pictured), will be leaving the company to join Mercatus Co-operative, one of NTUC's social enterprises, as group marketing lead. Lim reported to Christian Mason, MD, Southeast Asia.In a statement to Marketing, a Virgin Active spokesperson said there are currently no plans to replace her role and Mason will oversee her duties and responsibilities. In her new role at Mercatus Co-operative, Lim will explore creative and innovative ways for the group in the area of marketing, especially digital and new technologies in the retail scene.Lim was one of the key hires of the pioneering team when the brand first expanded into the Southeast Asia region, and was integral to the launch of Virgin Active’s nine clubs regionally in less than five years. She was also responsible for driving the overall omni-channel marketing strategy for the region and took a hands-on approach in driving in-market execution.During her time as head of marketing, Lim oversaw the full spectrum of marketing and uses traditional, guerrilla, digital and social media solutions to achieve objectives, the spokesperson added.
