Unilever concludes global media pitch

Nearly a year after Unilever first announced the review of its media buying and planning business, the company has concluded the pitch without much of a shuffle.Incumbent Mindshare continues to hold the lion’s share of the Unilever business in markets such as Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. However, it lost the Australian business to PHD earlier in the year.PHD added on duties along with its existing duties in markets such as China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and New Zealand in the region.According to global media reports, Mindshare added on markets in Eastern Europe that were previously been handled by PHD. Meanwhile, markets such as North America and African currently remain with Mindshare.Marketing has reached out to the agencies and Unilever for a comment.Earlier this year, Unilever consolidated all of its search engine optimisation and search engine marketing under OMG’s Resolution Media. Resolution Media, which is part of Annalect Group, sits under Omnicom Media Group’s digital data and analytic umbrella.
