Timed with the recent release of the latest entry in the franchise, Toy Story 4, Hong Kong’s Harbour City mall has collaborated with Disney to launch a Toy Story campaign with a series of activations from 29 June to 4 August. The themed carnival has decorated the seven-meter-tall archway entrance at Ocean Terminal Forecourt with giant statues of the Toy Story franchise’s main characters; Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Slinky Dog. Standing alongside them are other notable series characters and newcomers such as Bo Peep, Duke Caboom, Jessie, and those adorably weird green Aliens. Furthermore, several installations such as a six-meter-tall “Buzz Lightyear Ferris Wheel” and a “Summer Road Trip” Camping Van have been set up as photo-spots.  Harbour City has also launched an array of games and activities to engage fans on site, such as a giant claw machine titled (amusingly) “Aliens: Oooohh the Chosen Ones”, and a car racing challenge called “Duke Caboom: Kart Race”. Other activities include a gallery exhibit on the art of Toy Story 4,  a kids’ workshop, and an interactive digital game.Toy doctor, Ambrose Lee, will be on-site to provide free individual consultations to visitors’ toys. She will also teach children and parents how to take care of toys at home, and techniques for repairing worn-out toys. Harbour City has also collaborated with The Salvation Army to collect pre-loved toys to share with those in need. A “Toy Swap Day” will be coming soon.In an additional cross-promotion, a  Toy Story themed-dessert pop-up store and “Summer Splash Photo Fun” hotspot will be presented by Hong Kong Disneyland at Harbour City.
