Scripps Networks Interactive and Starhub TV to launch HGTV

Scripps Networks Interactive and StarHub TV will launch HGTV, US home lifestyle channel, in Singapore. The channel is set to make its debut on 4 December 2014.In a press statement, Scripps Networks Interactive claimed that this will be the first regional channel dedicated exclusively to the growing home and lifestyle category in Asia. In addition, there will be exclusive original local productions based on series such as Extreme Homes.A Facebook engagement campaign was also launched on 30 October, encouraging fans to submit their most imaginative home-related images. This campaign has been running concurrently with a "Home Moments" Facebook contest that has been running from 14 November. Singaporean fans have been invited to share candid images of their home, family and friends.Lee Soo Hui, head of media business unit, StarHub said: "As Singapore has one of the highest home ownership rates in the world, we are confident that customers will identify with the channel’s home-focused programming. In addition to delivering the channel in high definition, we will work closely with Scripps to bring customers closer to their favourite HGTV personalities in the near future."HGTV has already launched its digital assets including its robust HGTV website and its increasingly HGTV Facebook page.
