Just yesterday morning, a fire broke out in a Samsung Experience Store in Singapore’s AMK Hub. This, unfortunately, came just ahead of the unveiling of the new Samsung S8 models today. The brand has not had the easiest times in recent months. Last year, it had to recall of 2.8 million washing machines in the US in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission. This came after the company received 733 reports of washing machines experiencing excessive vibration or the top detaching from the washing machine chassis. It also had the whole debacle of the fiery Note 7 and rumours of different phone models catching fire.According to ChannelNews Asia, although there were no injuries, neighbouring stores had to be closed down temporarily for cleaning and safety purposes. In a statement to the news source, Samsung Electronics said it is currently assessing the property damage and is working with authorities to determine the cause of the fire.
