Safi has repositioned its anti-ageing skincare line with a new campaign that shifts the conversation from skincare benefits to women's confidence and self-empowerment.

Created by MBCS, the creative agency under Omnicom Media Malaysia, together with media agency PHD, the campaign marks the relaunch of Safi Rania Gold as Safi Youth Gold Rania.

Titled "Semarakkan seri keremajaan bersama Safi Youth Gold Rania" ("Enhance your glow with Safi Youth Gold Rania"), the campaign aims to encourage Malaysian women to rediscover their confidence by addressing insecurities commonly experienced through different stages of life, including ageing, marriage and motherhood.

Rather than centring solely on the product launch, the campaign draws on insights gathered from conversations with Malaysian women and the experiences of 100 participants to explore how many prioritise family, careers and loved ones over themselves, gradually losing touch with their confidence and sense of identity.

Leading the campaign is Malaysian actress and entrepreneur Fasha Sandha, who joins the brand as its new ambassador. According to Safi, she was selected for her resilience and her ability to represent women navigating different phases of life while maintaining confidence.

The campaign also features a series of reality-style episodes following the journeys of 100 women as they share personal stories of struggle, growth and renewed confidence. Through these stories, Safi positions skincare as an act of self-care and empowerment rather than simply an anti-ageing solution.

Supporting the campaign is a reimagined version of Jaclyn Victor's song Gemilang, performed by Yulia Kamelia with adapted lyrics inspired by the experiences of the women featured in the campaign.

Alongside the campaign, Safi has introduced an updated identity for the skincare range, including refreshed packaging and upgraded formulations, as part of its effort to modernise the brand while maintaining its longstanding positioning within the halal beauty category.

"As women embrace the many roles of motherhood, career, and family, they often become so devoted to caring for others that they forget to care for themselves." The MBCS team have taken a bold, human-centric approach to shape conversations in celebration of a woman’s resilience," said Kazlina Mohd Kassim, SAFI brand and insights specialist at Wipro Unza.

She added, "It is not just about looking younger but about reclaiming the confidence to embrace every stage of life while keeping the spark that has always been within them. Women must know that they are supported in their quest to rediscover their most glorious, ‘Gemilang’ days, and Safi is here to help reignite that spark."

In tandem, Jennifer Wee, creative director of MBCS said, “We didn’t just want to launch a product; we wanted to spark a movement that addresses the invisible struggles women face. Starting with Fasha being the catalyst of the transformation journey and spotlighting 100 real women, we’re challenging industry standards and raising conversations about self-worth."

"We want to show that beauty isn’t about chasing youth. It’s about the resilience to reclaim one’s own ‘Gemilang’ or golden era, regardless of the pressure life puts on us," she said.

Jennifer added that the campaign celebrates women from different stages of life who shared their personal struggles and transformations, reinforcing the brand's belief that every woman deserves to feel radiant and confident regardless of age or life stage.

The latest campaign builds on Safi's broader efforts to champion women's confidence and aspirations beyond skincare. Earlier this year, the halal personal care brand launched its Raya campaign, "Memperindahkan versi terbaikmu" ("Beautifying the best version of you"), in collaboration with MBCS.

Centred on the "Biasiswa Siswi SAFI" scholarship programme, which was launched in 2024 with RM1 million in funding, the initiative aims to give young Malaysian women the financial freedom to pursue their ambitions. Now in its third year, the programme remains part of Safi's commitment to helping women turn their aspirations into reality.
