Paul Soon to leave POSSIBLE APAC

Paul Soon (pictured), POSSIBLE APAC CEO, will be leaving the agency after almost two years with the company. Marketing understands that Caspar Schlickum, CEO, Wunderman Asia Pacific will be taking over his duties and the last day for Soon is yet to be decided.Marketing has reached out to Wunderman and POSSIBLE for comment.The move also follows the recent integration of POSSIBLE under Wunderman, in a bid to offer the expanded group with the “scale, expertise and global” reach to better meet the demands of marketers worldwide.  According to the press statement at the time, POSSIBLE will continue to operate as a standalone brand within Wunderman.Soon first took on the role in 2015, reporting to global CEO Shane Atchison, who also recently exited the company. He came on board to replace Kenny Powar, who left the agency after 14 years.  Prior to POSSIBLE, Soon was CEO of Asia Pacific for XM Asia (now Mirum), an agency he had been with for around a decade.Soon first joined XM Asia Pacific in 2002 as a business director. According to his LinkedIn, Soon helped build the agency’s business with HP Asia Pacific and launched several digital campaigns across the region. He was also part of the team which developed digital strategies such as eCRM, usability, and optimisation.This was after stints as a senior brand director and general manager at Saatchi & Saatchi and Arc Worldwide respectively. He took on the regional director role at XM Asia Pacific from 2009 to 2011, handling clients such as Singapore Tourism Board, HP, Mastercard, Malaysia Airlines and HSBC.Meanwhile, Schlickum took on the APAC CEO role for Wunderman in July last year, joining from WPP’s Xaxis where he served as CEO for the EMEA region. He succeeded Martin Conneen who has worked with Wunderman for a decade and served as president of Asia Pacific for two years.
