Local start-up Paktor looks to go global, hires VP of marketing

Singaporean start-up mobile dating app Paktor has added Jose Ruano and Miguel Mangas to the senior leadership team as it looks to go global. Paktor was founded in July 2013 and has over 5 million users and earlier this year, Paktor also secured SG$10 million in a series B funding.According to a release from the company, both Ruano and Mangas (pictured) will now spearhead Paktor’s “aggressive global expansion plans” as director of international expansion and vice president of marketing, international expansion respectively.Mangas , now VP of marketing for Paktor, was last on the marketing team for Meetic where he served as director of marketing. Ruano has over 12 years of experience and expertise in launching and building Meetic in Spain and Portugal. Meetic is one of Europe’s largest dating platform and is part of the IAC/Match Group, alongside brands like Match.com, OKCupid and Tinder.Joseph Phua, CEO and co-founder of Paktor said, “Their expertise and passion in navigating and conquering new markets will be assets for us. We continue to build Paktor into a dominant player in the global dating scene and are excited to have both Jose and Miguel on board to help propel our growth beyond Asia.”The duo will be based in Spain, spearheading Paktor’s international efforts from Madrid.
